Bad Bug January Preview

XenoGeist, Bobby Jo, and more!

Hey, everyone! Mike Tener here. I’m the Creative Director of Bad Bug Media. I’ll get right to it. We have a lot happening in Q1. January through March, we will be launching seven campaigns through Kickstarter! Thank you for making this possible.

I will share a preview of January titles, but here are a few items worth covering before we get into the fun stuff.

UPDATE TO OUR SHIPPING STRATEGY

Kickstarter takes 5% of the overall total raised from a campaign, including the money gathered for shipping expenses from backers. Crazy! This year, Kickstarter collected over $3,000 in fees from us that were intended for shipping costs. This amount of money would have covered several shipping supply and labor costs. Instead, it went to Kickstarter.

• For this reason, we’ve decided to stop charging shipping at the time of the pledge on Kickstarter in favor of charging the shipping costs when the Backerkit surveys are sent out.

• This allows backers to save money by only paying for the items they want and be charged for shipping later when they’re ready for their rewards to be shipped.

• It allows us to be more flexible with shipping charges for international readers.

FULFILLMENT PROGRESS

• Bobby Jo #2 - 98% complete. Waiting on a few replacements. Otherwise, we are done.

• Discordia #3 - 85% complete. All standard floppy books have shipped. The hardback and softback for Volume 1 will be ordered soon for delivery.

• Midnight Highway #4 - 90% complete. We are waiting for the 3D version of Issue 4 (still being developed) and a few metal and holofoil covers to come in to ship.

• Cereal Killer/Monster World #1 - 99% done.

• Roseblood Manor #4 - 85% shipped. We did post an update recently that was noteworthy on the condition of some metal books.

• Death Nell #3 - it’s in our fulfillment center ready to be shipped starting Jan 8th.

• HyperGeist #3 - will ship right after Death Nell #3 is completed.

• Vanya #6 - expected to arrive in our fulfillment center by end of next week.

• AstroWitch #2 - art is 75% complete. Can’t wait to get this one out to readers. Huge step up from Issue 1.

• No More Gods #1 - art is 50% complete.

• Dead End Moon #3 - art is 100% complete. Will be ready to deliver digitally once KS funds arrive.

• Sex Spells #1 - follow the campaign directly for updates. This is a title in partnership with Kale Jonason. Currently, the art is in production.

Now, that’s out of the way, here’s a sneak peak at all the titles releasing in January, starting with:

XENOGEIST #1

This spiritual sibling to Bad Bug’s fan favorite, HyperGeist, follows Izzy Monet, a cyborg law enforcement agent working for the XEA (Xenograph Enforcement Agency). Izzy’s superhuman augments and energy weapons make her a force to be reckoned with! However, she might have just found her match after uncovering a mysterious cyberterrorist group known as XenoGeist. 

The art team of Cari Salviejo and CF Lum have created a beautiful, gothic cyberpunk world that is sure to be another must-read series from writer Scott Wilke.

Bobby Jo is a resourceful lady, as you can see below. We’re so pleased with the work on this issue.
