Flickering Lights #2 launches today (or may have already launched by the time you’re reading this) and so with that, I wanted to bring to you, who may not be familiar with the story, some insight.

By the way, this is Mike Tener, Creative Director of Bad Bug, and I just want to say that I love the writers in BB and I really intend on giving them all some grandiose exposes in the near future. For now, a few words on Jason Pell.
I’ve known Jason longer than anyone else in Bad Bug, but, even with that, he is one of the newest comic creators I’ve got to work with in such a close, creative capacity. We met fifteen years ago at a bonfire party in the holler (we both live in West Virginia - just an hours drive apart) and had some banter over comics. At that time, Jason was an up-and-comer in the indie comic scene with his series, Zombie Highway, which had caught the attention of several publishers.
He went on to create loads of other stories (check out his entire library on the Kickstarter campaign - I’m a Pinpricks fan, personally). It wasn’t until he agreed to publish Bear Skin through BB last year that our professional relationship evolved into a friendship, however. That, to me, is the best part!
TLDR; I’m proud to have him be a part of the gang in Bad Bug. He writes good.
So…Flickering Lights, Jason’s fist foray into erotica was, in my opinion, a grand slam. He managed to intuitively work the feeling of listlessness, desperation, and loneliness into a wildly alarming and sexy story about a crew who have been haunted by glowing lights which take the shape of human beings and lure the crew to their untimely demises…like thirsty space sirens should.
It satisfies that horror urge to see an ensemble cast get picked off one by one in unique ways, but also subverts expectations with intimate moments that tease and excite in an almost foreboding way.
With that, here’s a first look at the campaign.
