State of the Bug Q3

New series reveal!

Hey, friends! Mike Tener here with another State of the Bug update.

Thanks to your support, we’ve seen a 27% growth in sales compared to last year—amazing! This year, we’re wrapping up some OG series like AstroWitch, Death Nell, HyperGeist, and His Name is Wrath, with XenoGeist and Bobby Jo soon to follow. It’s bittersweet, but we’re so proud of these “Wave 1” titles.

The good news? New series like Junk World, Murder Mary, and a few surprises (hints: Geist, Mermaids, Bikini, and Red) are on the way. Q4 is going to be packed with exciting stuff, and I can’t wait to share more soon!

FULFILLMENT

• June has been a whirlwind! We wrapped up production on seven books, an incredible milestone. This may cause slight delays of about a month as our printer works through the many print orders we’ve just hit them with, but we’re still on track for fulfillment between now and mid-August. We’ll keep you updated!

• Also, Sex Spells and Curse of the Gorgon have been returned to their original creators, who will now self-publish under their own banners. For updates on Sex Spells 2 and Curse of the Gorgon 2 fulfillment, please contact the creators directly via their Kickstarter campaigns. We believe in both series and strongly encourage you to continue to support the creators behind those projects.

WHEN WILL YOU SEE BAD BUG AT CONS?

In 2026, we’re planning to hit up several major cons across the eastern half of the US, with a few stops on the west coast too. This year, we focused all our energy (and budget) on developing books, but next year, we’re going all out!

We’ll be doing huge giveaways at every show, so keep an eye out for us. Our goal? To have one of the best vendor booths at every con we attend. We can’t wait to see you there and make it an unforgettable experience!

PROJECT DEBUT!

Our next super spicy series from the Bad Bug Midnight imprint, Danger Jane, launches on Kickstarter in early August! Co-written by me and Allen Dunford (Death Nell, Horus in Hell) and illustrated by Anutka, it’s a exciting mix of sex and espionage. Follow a washed-up TV actress who gets a second shot at stardom when a mysterious producer offers her the role of a lifetime.

And, now, we are debuting her for the first time with this variant cover from Alex Monik, a veteran Bad Bug cover artist.
