It did feel VERY weird that they killed off Taskmaster just like that. Someone who could go toe to toe against Natasha, and likely against Steve Rogers if given the chance.

I can see WHY they had to, as she was kind of redundant, BUUUT...if that were the case, they could have just as well not included her in the movie.

I find it even more interesting that NO ONE else died in the movie, at least as far as the main cast and even villains go. This is one of the RARE MCU movies where a villain did NOT die.

So WHY did they do that? I think to open up the chara (taskmaster) to someone else.

You had to mention Artax, didn't you? That was a very powerful scene, and I was soooo happy when Atreju was riding Artax again in the end.

I watch a lot of K-Dramas, and they are sometimes ruthless with killing off characters.

I also play DnD (among many other RPGs) and sometimes you just have bad luck, so one time I was simply falling off a cliff. That was... unexpected ^^

I absolutely loved that they retconned Artax's death with the ending. It sort of told me, as a kid, that nothing dies if it can live on in your imagination.

Are you sure you're talking about the Marvel movie and not a certain video game that came out on the 24th of last month?

This can break the impression of invincibility that can be created if the protagonists chain together actions that can be described as very dangerous without too much trouble over and over again. As much as it's better if it serves the story, if a scene has too much build-up around the deaths it can become predictable. Stupid deaths, which are unpredictable, are things that happen in real life, but they have almost no interest beyond the shock side and a free way to remove characters.

Agreed. And that's what the death in Thunderbolts felt like. They just removed a character with little regard or purpose. Also, which game are you referring to? I'm a little out of the loop.

I'm talking about Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. A good little AA, which in the video game sphere has been talked about quite a bit, for this year it is currently the game with the best Metascore (the sum of the score ratings given by the sites that rate video games), and the best user score on a video game that there is on the site...

A character death that shattered me but felt right in hindsight: Cutter from ElfQuest.

I missed on Elfquest. So...I'm pouring one out for ol' Cutter even though I'm not familiar.
